Some registries do not allow registrants to transfer a domain within the first 60 days after a new registration.
These domains will be locked by the registry and this lock cannot be removed by the registrar. This kind of lock will often be displayed in the public WHOIS and the domain status will show 'serverTransferProhibited' in this case.
The transfer lock will be removed automatically after passing the 60 days and then the registrant will able to transfer the domain.
Please note that the domain may also be locked for transfers at the registrar, but this will show as 'clientTransferProhibited' instead and can be removed via the control panel.
