Activating an SSL certificate, regardless of the supplier, usually carries in itself two main steps: generating and submitting a Certificate Signing Request (CSR), and completing Domain Control Validation (DCV).
Generating a CSR is usually done serverside on your hosting, however you can also generate your CSR through our control panel by filling out the required information, including the software your server is using.
DCV is most often completed through email verification. You will need to create an email address with your domain where the verification letter will arrive. Some certificate suppliers also allow verification through other means, like creating a DNS record in your domain's zone, or creating a verification file in your server files.
